Sodexo to Speak at SRSC – Chicago this May

Sodexo is the leading provider of integrated food and facilities management services in the US, Canada and Mexico and the 21st largest employer worldwide. The company’s efforts in social recruiting are more than impressive – the company has received recognition for its use of multiple platforms including YouTube and Twitter.

The story of Sodexo’s success in social recruiting is a real inspiration for anyone who is tasked with using social media for recruitment and employer branding. Sodexo has developed a strong employer brand by creating a real community around the brand and its employment values.

Anthony Scarpino, Senior Director of Talent Acquisition will be speaking at the Social Recruiting Strategies Conference this May in Chicago, to share the success of Sodexo. In his role, Anthony leads recruitment teams that focus on sourcing, attracting and recruiting facilities management engineers and top talent from the United States armed forces. Anthony directs the implementation of Sodexo’s employment branding including the use of Social Media properties and Web 2.0 tools. Prior to joining talent acquisition, Anthony managed unit food service operations in Sodexo’s Health Care division.

Some of the highlights of Sodexo’s presence in social recruiting include their career site, YouTube channel, Facebook page, Twitter page and LinkedIn presence.

Sodexo’s career site is a big recruiting hub: the talent community is a good way to stay informed of the company’s opportunities. Sodexo’s culture begins here – such as with its  diversity tab. In addition to having an established career site, Sodexo is also present through a career blog and on social media.

Video killed the radio star. Sodexo has had great success with a very active YouTube channel. They communicate about what is going on for the people at Sodexo: the idea is to be creative! Some of the most viewed videos are “Making every day a better day” (35,543 views) and “Spirit of Mentoring Video” (13,457 views).

Like. The Sodexo Career page on Facebook, Sodexo Careers – Past, Present & Future is a central meeting point of all of Sodexo’s values. “So innovative, so creative, so personal, so different, so Sodexo”: to gather people who worked, are working and will work for Sodexo. The social aspect is very important: an opinion is more credible if shared by a person rather than by a corporate organization. As most of us know, honesty and authenticity are key points to developing successful communications on Facebook.

The Career Blog is directly integrated into the Facebook page. Sodexo has chosen to keep their career blog along with its Facebook career page: regularly updating the blog.

Tweet this. Sodexo also has a career Twitter account: it’s the perfect way to share information and drive traffic to the website – not to mention it serves as an integral part of the employer brand strategy as a whole. Sodexo has a company page followed by 25,890 people.

Sodexo has built an established online community with a Facebook Career Page with 7,355 fans, and a Twitter account with about 7,206 followers. More than 45% of Sodexo candidates have used one or more of Sodexo’s social platforms in their job searches. Moreover, recruitment advertising costs have been reduced by $300,000 annually.
