Melinda Byerley is a serial entrepreneur and the founder of Timeshare CMO, a 100% distributed, data-driven digital marketing consultancy headquartered in San Francisco and founded in 2014. Melinda is a pioneer of growth marketing in Silicon Valley, with nearly 20 years' experience in marketing and e-commerce leadership roles with both "unicorn" tech companies such as Linden Lab/Second Life (head of Virtual Goods, Virtual Currency, and Ad Sales), eBay, PayPal, and Checkpoint Software; as well as with multiple startups, including one of Y Combinator's top twenty biggest startups, Poll Everywhere. Melinda holds an MBA from Cornell University in Finance and a BFA in Drama from Illinois Wesleyan University. Proving the value of influencers to a data-driven organization was a challenge for the DVD Netflix Head of Marketing, Vanessa Fiske. Partnering with Melinda Byerley of Timeshare CMO, the two teams designed, built, and launched #DVDNation, an innovative influencer program with a cost-effective gamification platform. The program not only provided immediate accountability but also scaled to embrace both original fans and a new community of micro-influencers for this 20-year-old technology brand.
