Predicting the Future of Social Media

Back to Agenda

How do we prepare for the future when the present seems so uncertain? Within the past two years, Social Media has been rocked by the weaponization of voter psychometrics, the elimination of organic reach, and loss of goodwill from consumers. With potential regulation on the horizon, technologies like AI, AR, and VR coming into their own, and Generation Z eschewing the norms of those who came before them, the landscape in front of us seems more uncertain than ever. We’ll explore the implications of all of these and how to design a future-proof strategy.

In this keynote, we’ll explore:

  • How brands can leverage machine learning in ethical ways to produce a permanent competitive advantage, even beyond Social
  • What patent filings tell us about the future strategies for the big social platforms
  • What AI, AR, and VR mean for the future of consumer interaction with brands, and their design implications for agencies and brands
  • Social trends that will likely disrupt the status quo, again
