Chris Mefford is a seasoned, award-winning business executive with over twenty years of experience in marketing. Right out of graduate school, he started and grew his own business from zero to $500,000 in twelve months; and shortly after, sold it. In 2007 he became the Director of Marketing and Advertising for the Dave Ramsey Organization and was eventually promoted to Vice President. There, he helped the company win the “Best Place to Work” in Nashville award for eight straight years. As the Chief Marketing Officer at Rock Church of San Diego, the fifteenth largest church in the nation, he helped completely rebrand its identity, launch a new website and double bot the senior pastors and the churches social media presence. Dave Ramsey said of Chris, “He took one of the most challenging departments in my company and made it one of the very best.” He has started and produced two iTunes top ten podcasts for Marketing and Business: EntreLeadership (over eight million downloads) and Leadership University (nine million downloads). He has also been a frequent guest on many other podcasts. In addition to all of this, Chris founded Qontent Agency, a strategic digital marketing firm that specializes in faith-based and nonprofit organizations.

Digital Marketing Strategies That Attract

The biggest goal for all church marketers is to assist the pastor in growing the congregation. Many obstacles interfere with this goal from limited funds, lack of strategy, wrong messaging, graphic design paralysis, and lack of engagement. Most churches promote worship and pastor messages and stop there. This session will teach you how to connect with your audience emotionally to create awareness, engagement, and drive growth by:

  • Promoting the identity of your church and connecting with the “consumer”
  • Creating a message strategy that understands your audience
  • Marketing that motivates by developing CTAs
  • Understand social as a platform to create relationships
