Elana Vorspan joined the staff of Valley Beth Shalom (VBS) in 2013 as the Director of Communications at the Day School, overseeing all marketing efforts for the K–6 private school in Encino. In the summer of 2015, Elana began her current position as Director of Marketing and Communications for Valley Beth Shalom Synagogue and its schools, a new position responsible for raising the profile of the synagogue and schools through improved marketing and communications efforts. Elana has also played a major role in the synagogue's live stream efforts during the current Coronavirus pandemic, growing the organization's social media followers and YouTube subscriber reach significantly. Prior to joining the VBS professional staff, Elana worked for eleven years at the Jewish Free Loan Association of Los Angeles as the Director of Program and Marketing. Elana holds a Masters Degree in Public Administration from California State University, Northridge and a Bachelors Degree in Sociology from UCLA. Elana has served on many volunteer boards, and is a certified notary public. She lives in Van Nuys with her husband Ben and two sons.
