John Fransen has been an Officer with the California Highway Patrol for 16 years. He was the PIO for the CHP – Contra Costa Area for four years and was subsequently assigned to be the PIO for the CHP – Golden Gate Division, which serves as the CHP’s command center for the nine counties that comprise the San Francisco Bay Area. He has been the Division PIO for three years. In this capacity, Officer Fransen is the point of contact for traditional media outlets, is the Admin for all Golden Gate Division social media platforms and is tasked with monitoring all Area-level social media platforms. Officer Fransen’s most notable experiences dealing with media relations and social media messaging are the Atlas Tubbs Fires, Kincade Fire, and the Yountville Shooting.
