Rebecca D’Auria is the Public Affairs Specialist at the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.

She directs strategic social media communications and messaging for over 160 OC Sheriff social media accounts and is responsible for developing and coordinating social media outreach for the department. She provides thoughtful insights to implement the creative and grow community engagement for these accounts, ensures other internal departments are aware of the social analytics and researches social trends to influence how these accounts appear on various social and digital media platforms.

Rebecca additionally responds to various public information-related inquiries and prepares guidance on effective social media and public information methods and procedures. She enjoys promoting department communication efforts and training junior communications peers.

Before joining the Orange County Sheriff’s Department in 2020, she worked as a staff writer and social media manager for Behind the Badge, an award-winning police, fire, and public safety news site based in Southern California.

Rebecca holds a bachelor’s degree in communications advertising from California State University, Fullerton.
