In the digital age, social media has become a vital tool for law enforcement agencies to connect with their communities. First and foremost, we must foster transparency and share critical information when the need arises. But there is another side to social media that allows departments to showcase their agency and connect with their audience in a different way.

This session will provide strategies needed to use social media creatively and effectively to tell their agency’s story, utilizing non-traditional practices and thinking outside of their comfort zone. This can allow us to connect with those we serve on a more basic level, showing the various sides of our departments, our staff, and our responsibilities.

Participants will see how to build trust, connect, and engage with their community in meaningful ways. Real-world examples will highlight how creative social media can make a positive impact by strengthening our relationships with our respective communities. From showcasing the human side of policing to leveraging humor and creativity, we will explore innovative ways to communicate authentically with the public.
