Heather LaLiberte is the social media manager for the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department. After earning her bachelor’s degree in business administration (marketing emphasis) from Pacific Lutheran University in 2009, she entered the private sector, overseeing the marketing strategy for a private medical practice. In 2013, Heather switched to the public sector and was appointed public information officer (PIO) for the Pierce County Prosecutor’s Office. She went on to serve as PIO for the Washington State Gambling Commission, where her communication topics ranged from animal fighting to money laundering investigations. As the social media manager, Heather is responsible for telling the sheriff’s department’s story and engaging the community using numerous platforms.
