Renie has worked in a variety of traditional and non-traditional communications tools in the private industry, higher education, and non-profit agencies in the state of Colorado. Her background includes developing social issue campaigns and programs for the Colorado Attorney General’s Office of Community Engagement. She has project-managed communications materials to reach emergency management and mitigation leadership through the Colorado Homeland Security and Emergency Management and currently works at the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office of Public Affairs as the Community Relations Manager. At the JCSO, Renie strives to communicate important information about services and initiatives to the public through various programs and community events. She uses a variety of social media platforms to keep the public engaged in, and informed of current issues that affect the citizens of Jefferson County. From public safety messages to more in-depth stories featuring deputies and professional staff, citizens learn about all aspects of the Sheriff's Office on platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, NextDoor, and LinkedIn.
