Fred started his public affairs career on active duty in the U.S. Army as a Public Affairs Broadcast Specialist. After seven years on active duty, he changed direction and joined the U.S. Army Reserve to pursue a civilian career in Public Affairs. His journey began with the Bureau of Reclamation in the Department of Interior, creating social media strategies to inform stakeholders of water issues in the West. After two years, Fred transitioned to the U.S. Army's Digital Media Division. During his time, he led numerous social media campaigns, including the Army Birthday, policy roll-outs, Medal of Honor announcements, and day-to-day social media content. Now, as a member of the United States Department of Defense social media team, he's responsible for developing and executing social media programs and products supporting Department of Defense communication strategies and public affairs objectives. In his downtime, Fred volunteers in his community as an umpire, coach, and board member for Spotsylvania County Little League. He lives in Fredericksburg with his wife and three kids.
