Adal Rivas is a communications professional dedicated to bridging the gap between government, advocacy, and community engagement. With a strong background in climate justice advocacy and local governance, Adal’s journey began during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, volunteering for climate justice movements. Since then, he has trained various grassroots organizations in best practices for social media, branding, and messaging.

As Communications Director for District 2 Austin City Councilwoman Vanessa Fuentes, Adal is committed to setting a new standard for local government communications. He encourages elected leaders at all levels - local, state, and federal - to strengthen their engagement by embracing modern tools that foster stronger community connections.
