Emily Haney is the Social Media Manager for the City of Lincoln, Nebraska, where she capitalizes on trends, analytics, and a good pun to connect with the community. She also uses her expertise to help City of Lincoln departments engage creatively and effectively with residents. She has an eye for detail and the perfect sunset photo. Emily made the leap into government social media after working in daily news as a photojournalist.  

She enjoys participating in three book clubs, competing in archery tournaments, and FaceTiming her nephew. She’s a champion in Lincoln Young Professionals Group and a Big Sister in Big Brothers Big Sisters Lincoln. Emily recently received the City of Lincoln Mayor’s Award of Excellence for her innovative social media lifeguard hiring campaign. Originally from Georgia, she's a proud University of Georgia alumna, where she received degrees in journalism and French. Go dawgs!
