Jennifer Dorsey is the Social Media Coordinator for the NIH National Cancer Institute. She oversees the social media efforts for the Institute, including developing strategies around social media events, campaigns, platform management, and policy. She also leads a community of more than 100 individuals around the Institute who manage or are involved in social media work. Before arriving at NCI in 2016, she worked for 6 years at the Office in Personnel Management where she held roles as a press officer, blog writer, and social media lead. She has her Masters in Communications and is currently completing her Masters in Public Health at GW’s Milken Institute.

In this session, attendees will learn strategies for integrating social media into larger communications plans and strategies, making a case for social media to be included early in the planning process, and integrating messaging, branding, and other aspects of a campaign so that social media doesn’t miss a beat.
