Cara Ball manages social media accounts for the Detroit Police Department. A former digital journalist turned public relations specialist with more than eight years of digital media experience, Cara develops social strategies focusing on public safety and community building for the Detroit Police Department.
As a journalist, Cara started as a digital manager and video reporter in Kokomo, Indiana, producing video content telling the stories of North Central Indiana residents. In 2018, Cara moved back home to Detroit to work as a digital producer for the ABC affiliate station in metro Detroit.
Presently, as a digital specialist for the Detroit Police Department, Cara works closely with the department's Neighborhood Policing program, which launched in 2013 and focuses on quality of life concerns for residents. She has implemented social campaigns that inform and educate the public and highlight community engagement efforts through the police department.
