Abbey leads the Port of Seattle’s social media strategy. As manager of the organization’s brand and voice on social media, she executes storytelling content and marketing campaigns for seven social media channels representing the Port of Seattle and the 2022 World Airport Awards winner of the Best Airport in North America, Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA). She focuses on creating content that supports the Port’s objectives around economic development, environment and sustainability, and capital programs at the airport and seaport. Abbey creates and implements marketing campaigns to make SEA travelers’ and Seattle cruise passengers’ experiences more enjoyable and efficient.
Her significant experience in emergency and crisis communications qualifies her to lead the digital and social media on-call team. Before the Port, Abbey managed social media for Puget Sound Energy and led the utility’s storm communication efforts with a social media-first strategy. She attended Washington State University, receiving her public relations degree from the Edward R. Murrow College of Communications. In her spare time, she loves being a mom of two little ones, Maddie and Mason. She also enjoys sampling craft beer, baking, cheering on her WSU Cougars, and spending time with friends and family in the beautiful Pacific Northwest.
