Dr. Liz Gross is the Market Insights Manager for the loan servicing affiliate of Great Lakes Higher Education Corporation. Her professional super powers include designing and analyzing market research, applying social media strategy to multiple areas of an institution, explaining difficult concepts in simple language, and using social listening to develop consumer insights and assist with reputation management. She is also a member of the Higher Ed Experts faculty, where she teaches Social Media Measurement for Higher Education to marketing professionals around the world.
Liz has spoken about marketing, social media, assessment, and higher education at South by Southwest EDU, South by Southwest Interactive, ACPA, NASPA, the Penn State Social Media Summit, the American Marketing Association Symposium for the Marketing of Higher Education, the CASE Social Media and Community Conference, and the American Multicultural Student Leadership Conference. Her writing has appeared in Inside Higher Ed, New Directions for Student Services, ACUHO-I Talking Stick, CASE Currents, and the Direct Marketing Association Analytics Journal.
Liz received her Ph.D. in Leadership for the Advancement of Learning and Service in Higher Education at Cardinal Stritch University. She received the Leo and Margaret Goodman-Malamuth Outstanding Dissertation Award from the American Association of University Administrators. Liz holds a bachelor’s degree in interpersonal communication from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and a master’s degree in educational policy and leadership from Marquette University.
