Tyler A. Thomas is an award-winning digital communicator who builds brand engagement for the “Big Red” brand at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. In his role at the university, Tyler is part of the institution’s communications senior leadership team directing the university’s strategic communication functions including social media, videography, photography, project management and graphic design to deliver an effective digital communication strategy and editorial plan. Tyler’s work has been internationally recognized with awards from the American Marketing Association, American Advertising Federation, Public Relations Society of America and the Council for Advancement and Support of Education.
Tyler is an international presenter, invited speaker and writer on integrated digital content strategy in higher education and recently completed his second year as Chair of the Council for Advancement and Support of Education’s (CASE) North America social media conference.
Tyler holds a master’s degree in higher education administration, bachelor’s degree in advertising, and an executive certificate in leadership from the University of Nebraska. He teaches an undergraduate course in both an online and in-person format on digital content strategy that he designed for the University of Nebraska–Lincoln College of Journalism and Mass Communications.
