Jesse Summers is the director of social media and brand strategy at the University of Oregon. He is responsible for developing and implementing the university’s social media strategies and leading the content creation efforts for the university’s institutional accounts. In addition, Jesse leads the Division of University Communications’ student employee program—the Communications Academy—and podcasting efforts. Prior to his current role, Jesse was the executive communications manager for the University of Oregon’s Office of the President where he worked closely with the university’s president and other executives to shape and execute communications ranging from speeches and video messages to all-campus emails and website content. He earned bachelor’s degrees in advertising and journalism from the UO’s School of Journalism and Communication and is currently pursuing a master of business administration from the UO’s Lundquist College of Business.
