Most days you’ll find Josh McDaniel on campus in his backward NSU baseball hat, a camera in one hand and his iPhone in the other. Known as “jMac” to his friends, McDaniel loves telling stories of the University and its students to the world. In June of 2019, he was promoted to Director of Marketing and Branding at Northwestern State University after filling the interim role of the same position for four months. Prior to his promotion, McDaniel was the Assistant Director of Marketing and Social Media coordinator for NSU. He is responsible for all of Northwestern State’s social media and advertising campaigns, as well as maintaining the University’s external and internal brand. When he isn’t behind his cluttered desk or driving around campus in his golf cart, McDaniel can usually be found watching baseball or listening to Pearl Jam. He and his wife Amanda have been married for 13 years, and they have one son, Davis, and another baby due in March. McDaniel graduated from Louisiana Tech University in 2005 with a degree in kinesiology, and he is currently pursuing his master’s degree in Student Affairs in Higher Education at Northwestern State University.
