Laurie is the digital and social media coordinator at the Yale School of Management. She started at Yale SOM 10 years ago, at the same time that the school was entering the world of social media. The school now actively shares content on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Snapchat, WeChat, Tumblr, and YouTube.
As a member of the digital team, Laurie is involved in the strategic planning of content and unique social media campaigns. She compiles and reviews social media analytics on a monthly and yearly basis in order to recommend future content and help to streamline the direction for the school’s social media channels. Working closely with the marketing department, Laurie also monitors the referral traffic from social media to the som.yale.edu website.
A large part of Yale SOM’s success is due to the excellent photography shared on our channels. Laurie manages a team of five-plus student photographers—who are in the process of getting their MBAs—to capture the spirit and warmth of the Yale SOM community. This past academic year, the students submitted photos from more than 100 events around campus and beyond.
Prior to Yale SOM, Laurie was a broadcast journalist in New York state. She transitioned into a web editor role while working at WNYT in Albany, New York. She also was a web manager at WFSB-TV and WTNH-TV in Connecticut.
She has an MS in Interactive Media from Quinnipiac University.
