Keisha N. Hines is Vice President of Communications for the Georgia Chamber of Commerce where she manages the Chamber’s global communications and strategic messaging functions including public relations, social and digital media, message development as well as building grassroots support and engagement. Prior to joining the Georgia Chamber, Hines was Senior Director of Communications, Strategic Partnerships and Innovation at Zoo Atlanta. In this leadership role, she directed the Zoo’s social media, public relationships, partnerships and technology-based innovation projects.

Ms. Hines’ professional career includes more than 15 years of experience in a variety of fields, including public relations, marketing, high-level crisis management, music, fashion, television and law enforcement. Her diverse background allows her to use innovative public relations tactics to yield proven results and strong industry awareness. Her accomplishments include two 2009 Atlanta Marketer of the Year (AMY) Awards in General Advertising and Integrated PR Campaign for the Zoo’s Give So They Stay campaign to keep giant pandas in Atlanta.

Prior to joining Zoo Atlanta in 2007, she served as Senior Public Relations Manager for the City of Atlanta Department of Public Works and Public Information Manager for the Department of Planning and Community Development. Her tenure with the City of Atlanta included a number of high-profile projects, including the successful Permitting Improvement Project, Affordable Workforce Housing, Incentivized Recycling and the Sustainable Atlanta Initiative. Her career also includes work as the Community spokesperson for the DeKalb County Police Department and on-air reporter for DeKalb County Television. Her entertainment industry experience includes positions with Violator Management & Music in New York, as well as wardrobe stylist to artists such as Missy Elliott, Mase and Busta Rhymes.

Her professional affiliations include the American Marketing Association and Atlanta Press Club.

A native New Yorker from Queens, Ms. Hines holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and International Politics with a minor in Criminal Justice from Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland.
