Joey Maestas currently oversees Social Media and Influencer Marketing for Microsoft Education. He develops and executes social marketing campaigns to empower every student and educator to achieve more.
Joey recently comes to Microsoft with an well established career in Social Media & sports marketing. Joey was the first full-time social media hire at Sports Illustrated in 2012, developing social/digital media strategies for SI and its associated properties (including SI Swimsuit and The MMQB). From SI, he continued in the #smsports world as Head of Social Media at the U.S. Olympic Committee (Go Team USA!). Recently, Joey was Director of Marketing at Virtual Reality start-up NextVR (acquired by Apple) where he developed marketing strategies for sports and entertainment immersive experiences.
Joey is an alum of the University of Colorado, Columbia University and Stanford University. He resides in Denver, Colorado where he enjoys cheering on his Denver sports teams + golfing and fishing in the Rocky Mountains.
